Sharon-Elizabeth Regan “The little lady with the BIG voice!”

I wanted to be a cellist and at 16 years of age, I went to study Cello at the Coventry Centre for The Performing Arts, under the guidance of the Principal Cellist of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. At college all music students had to play piano and take singing lessons. So, a year later when I developed RSI in my left hand and was told I had to quit the Cello, the teaching staff told me to take my A ‘Level Music on my voice.

I went on to study Electronic Organ and Singing at Trinity College of Music in London and after graduating I joined a band in London and worked with them for 4 years, whilst also working with a fabulous Harpist and working in various day jobs. Nobody EVER goes into the music industry for the money, do they?!

I was fortunate enough to have performed at the Royal Albert Hall twice, the Birmingham Hippodrome, Coventry Cathedral and at all the major working men’s clubs in London and the South East…

I then auditioned for a musical, and happily got a role which resulted in performing in the West End and being part of the soundtrack recording. From there, I went on to sing in a leading Entertainment Hotel where I met my husband David.

I co-founded a Stage school in Kent, and was responsible for teaching singing and music theory and I stopped singing professionally in 2008, following the hospitality route, something I absolutely adored, and eventually became an Assistant Manager of a large Conference Centre in the midlands.

But something was missing. Music!

So, in 2016, we decided to take a deep breath and move to Spain. We arrived on May 9th 2017. David is now a semi-retired roadie, and I am loving every moment of my second-wind singing career, here in beautiful Almeria.

As I am classically trained, I can lend my voice to pretty much anything, (with the exception of heavy rock and rap… 😉) and enjoy singing a huge variety of songs, from Bach to Beyoncé, and almost everything in between! Show tunes are a favourite, but I can build my gigs around the audiences’ preferences, with sets in decades from the 1940’s to present day, I really can offer something for everyone.

And at 4ft 9½ tall, I really am “The little lady with the BIG voice!”

Hope to see you at a gig near you!
